- In 1996 after a trip to Ireland when 6 like-minded anglers wanted to fish against each other Grebe Angling Club was formed. The club prides it self on being a well run democratic club where all members have a say. The club included a wide demographic of members in terms of their lives as well as their fishing ability. Whilst there is the competition element within the club (we are fishing matches after all), we do like to encourage the enjoyment of the sport and have fun along the way.

Hello lads, fished Factory Bank today with the RAF. 2 x 11 lb weights, then mostly 5 or 6 lb. Between 15 & 20 fished (I lost count).
ReplyDeleteWater was clear, right to left tow & a left to right wind. Bl**dy well rained on & off most of the day too.
Bread did OK for those that fished it, especially in the first 2 hours. Pike a problem, sitting over the breadcrumb as they do when one feeds g'bait. Loosefeeding hemp & / or pinkie seemed to solve the pike problem.
Those that did best fished several lines all over their peg. Usual stuff, really, I suppose - but weights down from the pre-xmas bonanza. No choppie fish to speak of, & the better fish were near the bottom, smaller stuff up in the water. There are various matches scheduled on the venue between now & our F+F in March. One of my mates will be fishing some of them, so I'll be tolerably pleasant to him until he tells me how things went.
